“Covid-19 in Curaçao documentary
When the pandemic hit us, I immediately began to document the covid-19 situation on the island on film and photo. I searched in the moment for local music that can translate what we are going through. It didn’t take long to put together the shortlist of the songs for this project. Because of the ongoing positive reactions to the music selection for the ‘Covid-19 in Curaçao’ documentary I made, I decided to share the history and content, the meaning of these songs and why I made this selection.

It has already been more than a year since we said goodbye to our good friend Gurshwin “Moekel” Hous. He always was a soldier and he always practiced exemplary behavior, even before he joined the Dutch Navy. You went too soon, yet you taught people around you how to do better! I’m honored that I was invited to make these photographs of your last journey!

I had the opportunity to visit Cuba for a couple of days in 2016.
I took my camera just in case of. I stayed in Havana and experienced a little bit of the revolution and also the aftermath. I got the chance to inteview the talented producer/ dj Dj Reitt on the dj culture in Cuba. The footage went to shelf for two years and I finally got a break to edit it. Enjoy the video on DJ CULTURE IN CUBA or just the sound of the tambores!

Yellow Claw asked me to shoot a music video for their new track “TO THE MAX” from their new album “New Blood”. Little that I know, that this would be an experience to remember!

“TO THE MAX” is a Baile Funk track with a mashup of artists on it, which makes it a very rich track. Starting of with Boknero (Philadelphia), Lil Debbie (California), Mc Kekel (São Paulo), Mc Gustta (São Paulo) & Of course the producers Yellow Claw (Amsterdam).
